Mirka introduces a new polisher for robotic applications. The Mirka® AIRP 300 is the latest addition to the company’s automation range and the first of Mirka’s robotic tools to offer rotary polishing.
Industries like automotive manufacturing, aerospace, and other automation-driven sectors now have access to a new and powerful polishing tool. The AIRP (Automated Industrial Rotary Polisher) 300 is a durable polisher with a 77 mm pad and an ISO 9409-1 compatible flange for mechanical robot coupling. It's an appliance that enables efficient precision surface polishing for modern automation solutions.
Mirka has developed professional robotic sanding and polishing tools for six eventful years. It’s a successful venture that, in turn, builds on over 80 years of surface finishing expertise. The AIRP 300 is a perfect example of how Mirka’s research and development team has turned the accumulated knowledge into a user-friendly product that will improve any robotic polishing process.
‘We set out to make a more effective polisher while preserving the strengths and celebrated characteristics of the previous tools in Mirka’s automation line, and I can confidently say we succeeded,’ says Evald Lassus, business sector manager at Mirka.
Consequently, the AIRP features the same 350 W brushless DC motor and sturdy aluminium housing as the other AIROS products.
AIRP 300 is an updated and improved version of the widely popular AIROP 312NV. Just like the AIROP, the new AIRP is fully compatible with Mirka’s motor drive cabinets and supports Modbus and Profinet communications. The key difference from the older AIROP model is that the AIRP offers rotary polishing instead of random orbital polishing. Rotary polishing is more effective than orbital, and it’s also more precise for polishing sharp angles and curved surfaces.
The AIRP’s rotary speed ranges from 1,000 to 3,000 rpm, making it suitable for a wide range of polishing tasks in the industrial, automotive and aerospace sectors. For those specializing in automated industrial polishing, the AIRP 300 is the perfect addition to the robotic toolbox.
